ClaimGlance Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 26, 2026
ClaimGlance is self-help software that gives homeowners a second look at their insurance estimate. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how long we keep it. "ClaimGlance", "we" and "us" mean ClaimGlance, the business that runs claimglance.com.
The short version
- We collect only what we need to check your estimate, or to tell you when we open in your state.
- We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.
- We never share it with your insurer, a contractor or a public adjuster.
- You can ask us to delete your case at any time.
ClaimGlance is in an early, invite-only test. To use it, you need an access code from us.
What we collect
What you give us
Each estimate you upload starts a check. Everything we save for that check is called your case.
- Your insurance estimate (PDF). Estimates usually show your name, the property address, the insurer, and your policy and claim numbers. Some also show a mortgage company.
- Line items you paste in. If your PDF can't be read, you can paste or type the line items instead.
- The insurer name and claim number, if you type them into the optional fields.
What we record when you agree to our terms
When you check the box confirming that ClaimGlance is a self-help tool, we keep a short record of it:
- your case number
- the date and time
- which version of the wording you agreed to
- your IP address
- a random browser ID (a random code saved in a cookie,
cg_bid, that recognizes this browser; it doesn't identify you by name)
What we collect automatically
Chat. On some public pages you can tap "Chat" to ask us a question. Nothing from the chat service loads until you tap "Chat". Chat is run for us by tawk.to. When you start a chat, tawk.to receives what you type, your IP address and rough location, your browser and device type, and the page you're on. It also saves a cookie and some browser storage (tawk_uuid_…, which lasts 6 months, plus short-lived ones) so the chat keeps working as you move between pages. When chat opens, your browser also loads files from jsDelivr, which receive your IP address. Chat isn't available on your case, report or private-link pages, so it never sees them.
An automated assistant answers first. It's software that uses AI, labeled "(automated)". It answers only from our own help pages. It can't see your estimate or your case, and it won't answer questions about your claim or your estimate. For those, it will ask you to email hello@claimglance.com. Its answers are AI-assisted through tawk.to, which may use outside AI companies to write them. tawk.to says the assistant doesn't learn from your chat. Amitai, a real person at ClaimGlance, can read chats and may reply in the chat.
Please don't paste your claim number, policy number, private link or other personal details in chat.
Chats are saved so we can help you. To have a chat deleted, email hello@claimglance.com.
- Four cookies needed for the site to work. If you open chat, tawk.to sets its own (see "Chat" above). We use no advertising or analytics cookies.
| Cookie | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
cg_access | Remembers that you entered a valid access code | 30 days |
cg_bid | A random ID that recognizes this browser, so it can open your case, and links your agreement record to it | 30 days |
cg_link_once | Lets us show your private link once, right after you upload your estimate. It works only on that case's pages. | 5 minutes, and deleted as soon as the link is shown |
__cf_bm | Set by Cloudflare to tell people from bots and protect the site | 30 minutes after you stop using the site |
If a visit looks automated, Cloudflare may also save one more cookie (cf_clearance); see "Bot protection across the site" below.
Our own team's test browsers also carry a cookie (__Host-cg_tester) that marks our test runs so they don't count in our numbers. Customers never get it.
- Basic request information, such as your IP address and browser type, which our hosting provider handles to deliver the site.
Bot protection across the site. Cloudflare screens visits to our site for bots. To do this it saves a cookie (__cf_bm) that expires after 30 minutes of inactivity. If a visit looks automated, Cloudflare may ask you to complete a quick check, which saves another Cloudflare cookie (cf_clearance).
What stays on your device
On the last page you can edit a message to your insurer and enter their email address. Whatever you type there stays in your browser. We don't receive or store it. You copy and send the message yourself. We never contact your insurer.
Your private link. Each case gets a private link you can use to come back to it, on this device or another one. We store only a scrambled version of the link's code, so we can't show it to you again; please save it when we show it. Opening the link in another browser lets that browser see your case. To do that, we save that browser's random ID (the cg_bid cookie) with your case. If you lose the link, you can get a new one from the browser you started your check on. That browser remembers your check for up to 30 days, unless you clear its cookies. You can also contact us at hello@claimglance.com, and we'll help once we've confirmed the check is yours. Getting a new link turns off the old one, and other browsers that opened the old link can no longer see your case. When your case is deleted, the link stops working and we delete the list of browsers that could open it. Anyone who has the link can open your case, so please keep it private.
The state your home is in. Before you upload, we ask which state the home is in. We use your answer to decide whether we can serve you. If we serve your state, we save your answer with your case, and it's deleted when your case is deleted. If we don't serve it yet, you can't upload an estimate, and we don't store your answer at all unless you join the waitlist below.
Waitlist. If we don't serve your state yet, you can leave your email address so we can tell you when we do. We save your email address, the state you chose and when you signed up. We use them only to send you one email when ClaimGlance opens in your state. After that email, we delete your address. We never use it for anything else, and we never share or sell it. Cloudflare stores it for us. Until we send that email, we keep it unless you ask us to delete it sooner: email hello@claimglance.com.
Please leave out health details. Don't upload medical records or describe anyone's symptoms, illnesses or injuries. ClaimGlance doesn't need that information. If you tell us you included some, we'll delete it.
How we use it
- To read your estimate and show you items you may want to ask about
- To decide whether we can serve the state your home is in, and, if you join the waitlist, to email you once when we open there
- To keep a record of what you agreed to, in case there's ever a dispute about our service
- To keep the site secure and stop misuse
- To meet legal obligations
We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't build marketing profiles.
Reading scanned pages with AI. Our software reads most estimates on its own. If a page of your estimate is a scan or photo with little readable text, we may send an image of that page (up to 20 pages per check) to Cloudflare Workers AI. It runs an AI model made by Meta (Llama 3.2 Vision) on Cloudflare's own servers to read the text. Those pages may show your name, address, policy number and anything else on your estimate. Cloudflare says it doesn't keep what it reads after answering the request and doesn't use it to train AI models. Meta doesn't receive your pages. We don't save the AI's full transcript. What we keep from your check is the same as for any other estimate.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with service providers that run ClaimGlance for us:
- Cloudflare hosts the site, stores your data, and runs the AI that reads scanned pages. Your estimate is kept in Cloudflare R2. Your line items, case, agreement record and any waitlist sign-up are kept in Cloudflare D1.
- tawk.to runs our chat and stores chats in the United States.
- AI companies used by tawk.to may receive your chat messages so the automated assistant can answer.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
We never:
- sell your personal information
- share it for targeted advertising
- share it with insurers, contractors or public adjusters
Analytics
Page visits. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits to our public pages. It sets no cookies and doesn't follow you to other sites. To count a visit, Cloudflare receives the page address, the page you came from, your browser type and your IP address. We don't run it on case, report or private-link pages.
Step records for your case. When you start a check, we record that a case was started. The record is linked to your case only by a scrambled case ID that can't be turned back into your case number without a secret key. It never includes your name, email, IP address, the files you upload or your answers. It's deleted when your case is deleted. Our own test runs are marked as tests so they don't count.
How long we keep it
| Information | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Your estimate, line items and case | Until you ask us to delete them, or until we announce a retention period by updating this policy. We don't delete them automatically. |
| The record of what you agreed to (case number, date and time, wording version, IP address, browser ID) | 6 years after your last purchase. If you never buy, 4 years after your last visit. We keep this record even if you delete your case, in case there's a legal question about our service. |
| Waitlist email address and state | Until we send the one email when we open in your state, then deleted. Email hello@claimglance.com to have it deleted sooner. |
| Cookies | Up to 30 days, as shown in the cookie table above (our team's test cookie lasts up to a year; customers never get it) |
| Chats | Until we delete them. Email hello@claimglance.com to have yours deleted. The chat cookie lasts 6 months unless you clear it. |
Your choices
- Delete your data. On your case, choose "Delete my case." We delete your estimate, your answers and your list of questions, and your private link stops working. We keep only the record of what you agreed to, described above. You can also email hello@claimglance.com from any address and include your case number, and we'll reply within 45 days.
- Questions or a copy of your data. Email hello@claimglance.com.
- Cookies. You can clear them in your browser. You'll need to enter your access code again.
Security
- Your information is encrypted in transit, and our hosting provider encrypts it when stored.
- Uploaded files are kept in private storage that isn't publicly reachable.
- Only a small number of people on our team can access it, and only when needed.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll tell you as the law requires.
We keep de-identified information de-identified and won't try to identify the people it came from.
Children
ClaimGlance is for adults handling their own home insurance claims. It isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If we learn that we have, we'll delete it.
Where we operate
ClaimGlance is offered only in the United States. Your information is processed by our service providers, who may store it in the United States or other countries.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the effective date. We'll ask your permission before using information you've already given us in a new way.
